Macy Easom Cancer Research Foundation
In August of 2004, Macy Eason was diagnosed with Stage IV Hepatoblastoma with lung metastasis. She underwent multiple rounds of aggressive chemotherapy to shrink the liver tumor and the doctors performed a tumor resection. While doctors felt confident of the outcome, Macy’s cancer had returned within four weeks. Her cancer spread and her family and doctors exhausted all treatment options. Macy passed away June 9, 2005, at the age of five.
The Macy Easom Cancer Research Foundation’s mission is to provide funding for research devoted to finding a cure and new treatments for Hepatoblastoma and other pediatric cancers while promoting public awareness. Our ultimate goal is to build a pediatric cancer research and treatment center in the Southeastern United States.
